Why We Decided to Develop This Quran App?

In 2015, two motivated young men aimed to make an easy and accessible resource for a word-by-word Quran into their native language Bangla. Soon they realised a user-friendly Quran app would be a great solution.

 

After that, they started checking out more than 20 existing apps and found various problems in those apps. The existing apps were cluttered with ads and didn’t quite meet users’ needs. Eventually, they decided to fill this gap themselves. 

 

After digging into what people really needed, they got to work. Their goal was to develop a Quran app that would genuinely serve Muslims worldwide and foster a stronger connection with Allah.

 

With Allah’s blessing, they launched the first version of their app, ‘Al Quran (Tafsir & By Word)’ in 2016. Their journey was just beginning, but their commitment to helping Muslims understand Islam better was already making a difference.

What Makes Our Quran App Unique?

Our Quran app has captured the hearts of millions worldwide over the years. Alhamdulillah, we’re thrilled to serve nearly 4 million users globally. People love our app because it offers an excellent user experience, useful learning features, captivating and engaging content, no ads, and many more.

But what really sets us apart is how we listen to our users. We regularly take their feedback to understand any issues they might be having. And when they tell us something, we make it our priority to fix it.

That’s the heart of our approach—to keep improving and making sure our users have the best experience possible.

Challenges We Faced in App Development and Enhancement

When we started developing our app, we knew it wouldn’t be easy. We wanted to create something truly special – a Quran app that was user-friendly, packed with quality content, and not cluttered. Here’s a peek into the challenges we faced and how we overcame them.

 

UX Challenge

Creating a user-friendly Quran app was our biggest challenge, but it was our goal. We wanted to create an app that would make the Quran learning simple and enjoyable, without any clunky interface. So, we looked into more than 20 apps that we use every day. We studied their best features and figured out what made them easy to use.

 

Our aim was to keep the design simple and distraction-free. We took the best ideas from those apps and blended them into our design. The result? An app where users can dive into studying the Quran without getting bogged down by the technology.

 

The Hunt for Authentic Content

Finding authentic content was a huge hurdle right from the start. We aimed to offer the Quran word-by-word, along with translations and tafsirs in numerous languages. But with limited resources, this task seemed daunting. 

 

We were the pioneer in adding Bangla word-by-word to the Quran app. We also collaborated with numerous organisations and individuals to include word-by-word meanings, translations, and tafsirs of the holy Quran in multiple languages.

 

Performance and Speed Optimization

We knew that for the app to be successful, it needed to be fast and smooth. This meant optimising performance and speed were crucial. From translation and tafsirs to word-by-word functionality and app scrolling, every feature needed to work seamlessly.

 

Adding Colour-Coded Tajweed

Integrating colour-coded Tajweed was another significant challenge. Tajweed rules are essential for proper Quranic recitation, and we wanted to make them easily accessible. Surprisingly, no other app had done this before. So, we became the first to include colour-coded Tajweed in our app.

 

Optimising the Database

We wanted our app to be lightweight without compromising on features. This meant we had to optimise the database effectively. Balancing a rich feature set with a light, fast app was tricky, but through meticulous optimization, we achieved it Alhamdulillah.

 

Essential Features

Incorporating features like auto-scroll, audio recitations, and translations in multiple languages were essential. But, finding and integrating them wasn’t too easy for us. Despite the challenge, these additions transformed the app. They made it so much more interactive and accessible. Users loved it! The app became something everyone could enjoy.

Future Plan for This Quran App

We are dedicated to creating a comprehensive and engaging Quran study tool to help people connect with the Quran in a meaningful way.

• We want to impact the lives of everyone in the world with the Quran app. However, we are focusing on two primary personas- practising Muslims and students of knowledge and researchers.
• Our plan is to offer translations, tafsirs, word-by-word explanations, and grammar details in many languages. We’ll include audio recitations and translations, too. This way, anyone can dive into the Quran and truly understand its teachings.
• To make the app even better, we’re designing it to be user-friendly and easy to navigate. Personalised learning tools (like Streaks and personalised content) will help users stay engaged and make the most of their study time. 
• We’re committed to providing authentic resources, verified by respected scholars of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah.
• We aim to make the app accessible to as many people around the world as possible in different languages, available on different platforms, and free or low price to get the app.
• Exploring new ways to make the app more interactive using AI and other modern tools.
